Success Stories

 Jocelyn Hamel

I have been on just about every crazy diet out there over the last 16 years. I remember when I was 14 my friend and I saw an add in the Edmonton sun for these smell sticks that were supposed to curb your appetite. Yeah 100 bucks later and nothing happened. Its funny how society and the news, television advertising really affect even young children. They question their body image at such a young age. I mean I look at the pics when I was 14 and I was healthy. I wasn’t overweight I was just perfect for that age! Ha-ha yet I had it in my head that I was fat. I would get up in the morning before school and bike to the ten Km sign outside of my town and back. I would keep a stock of rice cakes in my room and I went on my first diet at 14 how sad is that!!!

... Anyways eventually I moved to Edmonton. Going from a small town to a big city really made me pack on the pounds... Macdonald's are everywhere 7-elevens on the corner of the street. I was only 135 pounds but man did I look terrible it was all flab, no muscle tone whatsoever!!! My older sister had been big into body building at the time so I followed her example and I started going to the gym and working out. I had not really changed my eating habits at this point. In 1998 my boyfriend Brian moved up to Edmonton and we moved in together. We would go for groceries and buy things like battered chicken, Kraft dinner, noodles. We both put on weight and I started to notice. It was then that I started trying all these get thin quick schemes.

I ordered pills off the internet hoping they would curb my appetite. I tried out herbalife. Which was basically replacing eating with 2 or 3 shakes a day. Not the same as my occasional protein supplement right now. I wasn’t eating much real food and sure I lost weight. Once I stopped the shakes I again put it all back on. I have tried Weight watchers, Jenny Craig, Herbal magic, Dr. Bernstein (which is terribly unhealthy and expensive). I think back now and I am sure I spent thousands of dollars over the years on these get thin quick diets.

Eventually in 2002 I decided I wanted to try competitive body building and compete in the Northerns in June of 2003. I think when I started I was around 145 pounds. So I hooked up with my sister’s trainers. Brian and Donna Logue and started the long journey of dieting down for competition... Let me tell you this is not for the weak ha-ha. It was 5 months of extremely clean eating... This means nothing processed only real meat (chicken tuna egg whites) No fat no salt no fruit. The amount of food I was eating was crazy I had a giant lunch bag that my co workers used to love to bug me about!! When you are used to eating so unhealthy it was an adjustment. So after the 5 months I weighed in the night before competition at 114.5 pounds. It was a lot of hard work to get to that point but I was proud that I had made it. I did cheat a little and I could have been leaner but regardless I had made it. I always remember some great advice from Brian Logue “Pizza is not a diuretic”.   Brian and Donna are two of the nicest most caring people you will ever meet. As long as you put in the effort and follow their plans you will see results!!!!!! After competition was over I did the wrong thing I binged on food and went straight back to my old habits. By the end of the year I was at my heaviest yet, 165 pounds! I was so unhappy and I had also stopped working out.

Over the next few years I contacted Donna a couple times and got her to put together a diet for me. I would lose a bit of weight each time but then I would go back to my old habits. In January of 2009 I decided to start doing my cardio again every day and my weights 5 times a week. I was so stubborn that I absolutely did not want to change my eating. I thought I will just workout and lose the weight. Well let me tell you when Brian and Donna tell you that working out is only ten percent of it they mean it!! I worked out for 3 months straight and I did not lose one pound. I finally came to the realization that in order to get to my goal I was going to have to make some serious changes. You can’t just work out you have to also eat right, they go hand in hand. I also know myself and when it comes to eating I know once I restrict myself I usually go on a binge, so whatever I did it had to be tailored for me and it had to fit with my life. So I decided to go back to Donna and Brian. I told her what my goals were and she tailored an eating plan for me. I was quite strict with it for the first 4 months. After my metabolism picked up I would indulge once in a while in something I liked. Go out for dinner, have a treat etc. For me the key to losing the weight this time and keeping it off was not to stress my self out, and not to be so hard on myself. We are only human and life happens. If you have a piece of cake just move on and go back to your plan after wards. My mistake in the past was being too rigid with myself.   Everyone is different and they realize that. So far I have lost a total of 38 pounds since June of 2009. I am 123, as of February 19, 2010. My goal weight is somewhere around 120 and I have the utmost confidence in myself that I will achieve that goal and keep it off for the rest of my life!!! I can’t stress enough that you have to want to change for yourself and no one else.
 What also worked for me was getting my own equipment at home and do away with gym memberships. I love being able to work out at home. We have the full workout system in the basement, squat rack, balls, weights, and an elliptical upstairs. I don’t have an excuse for not working out because it’s all at home! Today I have healthy eating habits; I still do have a few weaknesses, beer and poutine  being two of them. I do indulge but I make sure that I am eating clean 90% of the time. I am on my way to being in the best shape of my life and I am finally HAPPY!!!! I would urge anyone who has tried similar things in the past to make the decision to go to the body by 24/7 website and sign up with Donna and Brian. Improve your life by improving your health!!! Thank you so much to Donna and Brian for helping me get my life back on track!!!

            If anyone ever tells you that losing weight is easy or that there is some kind of magic pill…..I am here to tell you they are wrong! There actually is a right way to do it, that is where Brian and Donna come in. I have tried every diet under the sun, including the quick fixes like the “cabbage soup diet”. I slowly started to realize that although I would drop a few pounds, it would all come back on the moment I “ate” again.
            I first heard about Brian and Donna Logue when I saw my brother starting to look absolutely amazing without changing anything else except how and WHAT he ate. I had just had my third child at the time so I decided to give it a try. I was very surprised, I could not believe how much food I had to eat and dropped 10 lbs in 10 days. I quickly realized that this was the program for me. In a few short strict months I dropped 40lbs. Unfortunately I put in all back on (and more) when I got pregnant with my fourth child and stopped taking care of myself (typical mom syndrome).
            In March of 2008, when I saw that picture of myself at my daughter’s birthday party, I immediately called Brian and Donna again. This time I promised myself and my family that no matter how hard it would be, I would get healthy so I could be around to watch my kids grow up. I stepped on the scale and could not believe my eyes when I saw 252lbs!! I was at the heaviest I had ever been. I told Brian and Donna that no matter how long it would take me, I would fight through the rough patches, and eventually get there.
            It has now been almost two years since that first picture and I have lost 44lbs to date. For some that may seem like a long time, for me it’s an accomplishment. Bottom line, when I stick to my menu plan the weight comes off!! Like everyone else I hit those tough times and stop eating the way I should. That is why I stick with Brian and Donna because they support me and guide me through it. They are amazing at what they do. They pat you on the back when you do well and are there for you when you struggle. I have finally started to realize that this is a way of life and not a diet. Talking to them helps me to make constant changes to the way I think about food and weight loss.
            I am now a few pounds shy of my half way goal. I am motivated now more than ever to work hard and get to my healthy weight and maintain it. The most important thing I have learned in this program is that losing weight is hard and it takes dedication and planning. However, once you get there it is worth it. When I see these pictures side by side I am inspired to keep going. Stay tuned as I hope to post another picture in a few months when I drop more weight, then a final one at my goal weight. Whatever your goal or vision you have for yourself, this program gets you there safe and healthy. Good Luck and stay tuned!!

I have been pretty much dieting my whole life.....I was introduced to my first diet at 14 years old by a gym instructor who was at least twice my age and twice my size. She told me I was too fat to do gymnastics in gym class... so my dieting began.   I cut my eating in half and within 3 months I was 15 pounds lighter, passed my gymnastics class but I passed out in school one day... welcome to hypoglycaemia.

From then on it has been a constant battle with my weight from being as low as 150 lbs to as heavy as 265 lbs. I have always lifted weights, played sports and thought I was eating well. When the scale hit 265, something was wrong and I needed a change.

I had always wanted to try bodybuilding, back in the day of Cory Everson, Lenda Murray Sharon Bruneau and Shelley Beattie... I thought this is something I wanted to go for. After a bad start with another trainer, I met Brian and Donna and I knew this was a good fit. I told them of my desire to compete and what competitions I was aiming for and when. I am sure that the first thing they thought was “is she nuts?” In the coming months I learned I was nuts to do as many shows in one year. They didn’t discourage me and say no you can’t do it, they encouraged me every step of the way. Diet after diet that Donna gave me yielded more results and every time I went to see them I had changed. The diets may have been strict and harsh but I can say I got results. Every piece of boiled chicken I had to eat was worth the first time I stepped on stage.... just about 100 lbs lighter. All in all I lost about 110 lbs by the time I hit my last show. My placings for all three shows were 2nd in novice, 3rd in open class and best poser, 1st in Provincials (heavy and Masters) and women’s overall, and 1st in my age category at the World Police and Firefighters Games in Vancouver.

There weren’t many people that thought I could pull off such a feat as this, there were only a few people that did.... one was my husband and the other was Brian and Donna. My husband married me when I was my heaviest and loved me then as he loves me now.  In 2009, my husband and I renewed our wedding vows.  He pushed me to do my best. Brian and Donna gave me the guidance, knowledge and they set me on the path and it was up to me to walk it.

They are both amazing individuals with a vast knowledge of what they teach and a love for what they do. I am happy to have met them both and would like to have met them years ago.

Thanks again. Shauna

At 25 lbs overweight, and frustrated with my attempts to lose and keep off the extra pounds, I would try to rationalize the lack of success I had in shedding the extra weight I had been carrying for years; my schedule was too busy to give the needed commitment, stress was contributing to the problem, my metabolism had slowed down over time, etc. You know, all the old, tired clichés and excuses you drag out to comfort yourself with when you’re discouraged.

Any weight that I would lose, while dieting, never translated into more than a non-noticeable decrease on the scale, and at only 5’0 tall I don’t have the luxury of carrying any extra weight. There’s just no place to hide it on a frame as small as mine. So to me, real success would mean losing the inches I saw in the mirror, not just the numbers I saw on the scale. What good is losing weight if no one can tell? Yes, feeling good about who you are is important. But feeling good about how you look is equally as important.

After visiting the Body By 24/7 website I decided to contact Brian and Donna, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. Both Brian and Donna are so easy-going and non-judgmental and when they explain something to you it’s in real world terms that are easy to understand, take to heart and apply.

The first thing you quickly learn is the huge role proper nutrition plays, not only in the short term goal of weight loss, but also in it’s long term benefit of training your metabolism to burn calories at it’s maximum rate so the weight you lose stays off.

The results for me were almost immediate. I began to see physical changes within the first few weeks and had people I see every day complimenting me and asking me what I was doing to lose the weight. It’s always funny when I see the look on people’s faces when I explain to them how much I’m eating. ‘Diet’ is a four-letter word to so many people, conjuring up images of hunger, and depriving yourself that they need to be convinced there’s a better way. I’m proud to be proof that there is.

Another benefit of having your metabolism working so efficiently is your energy levels stay so high. Proof of that came for me this past spring. As an accountant my busy time is February through April. During that entire stretch I work 7-day workweeks at 16 hours per day.  In previous years energy drinks, and caffeine pills were a necessity and a stress related weight gain was normal. This year I not only managed to do away completely with the drinks and pills I came out of tax season another 5 lbs lighter!

The decision to do this has honestly changed my life, and I have truly never felt better both inside and out.

Nov 2004 I was in Dominican Republic for one of the most important events of my life. I was getting married to my best friend who I was crazy in love with. But a couple of months before we went on our adventure to start our lives together we decided to try and lose some inches. My future wife and myself starting going to  the gym 3-4 times a week. We even had friends come with and join us because they saw how dedicated we were to shed some weight. I lost 5 lbs in 3 months, but it felt very good. When I went to Dominican I was very scared to take my shirt off on the beach and show my belly, so most of the time I wore t-shirts when out and enjoying the beach.

I'm sitting on the beach one afternoon and I see this woman who is just ripped run past me. Next this giant man walks past us. They are throwing a frisbee to each other having a great time. My new wife's cousin happens to recognize them. He asks me ' Don't you know who they are? That’s Donna and Brian Logue they are pro bodybuilders from Edmonton.' I didn't know who these people were. I knew they looked freakin cool all ripped up. I said to the cousin I will talk to them,  you watch. That night I saw them getting ready to sit and eat. I walked over and introduced myself. They treated me very nice and answered any question I had. Well it was nice to see them and learn who they were. I asked them if they help people like myself lose weight and they told me to call them when I got back to Edmonton. Well I didn't.

Almost 5 years later I am realizing I'm gaining weight and shutting myself off from my friends because I'm embarrassed of how I look. I realize I need to lose some weight. Where do I go from here? What can I do? How can I do this? So many questions and lots of answers from many sources. I started getting lots of info on the internet, lots of conflicting info. One day I was at work and something felt odd. As the day went on it seemed to be worse. At the end of the day I had a massive headache and felt like crap. I couldn't see out of my right eye. I phoned my wife crying on the phone. I was freaked out because I couldn't put a sentence together to tell her what was happening. I got myself home and went to bed. That night I still didn't feel any better and Jena called Capital Health. The nurse told Jena that she thinks it’s a stroke and she needed to get me to a hospital. I went for tests and the doctors told us it wasn't a stroke. Stress, and being overweight were a key to my incident. The doctor told me that if I didn't lose weight the incident would happen again and keep happening.

My wife had recently hired someone at her workplace who had been in the same situation. He had told her some of the things he had gone through with weight problems. He gave her a number for me to call. Well I called that night. When I realized who they were I was excited. It was the ripped couple from 5 years before. We then set up an appointment to meet which I was really nervous for. When I arrived at their home they were amazing to talk with. When I introduced myself to Brian and told him we had previously met in Dominican. He said you were the guy who walked up to us in the buffet line. He remembered. After our first conversation about what we eat I figured I can't do this. Well they teach you everything. They start you from scratch and work with you daily.

I feel 100% better. I have lost 44 lbs and I'm only half way there. I want to lose 44 more lbs. Donna and Brian have given me the tools to get back my life. I am more confident and very proud of what I've done. But the most important thing is that my wife and my 2 sons are very proud of me. My whole family has benefited from this program. Even my wife has lost 10lbs. I invite all people to try this. Believe in yourself and listen to what Donna and Brian tell you. I recently discovered that some of my friends who I was avoiding are using or have used this program. Now I have a connection with my friends again. Thanks Donna and Brian for being  there everyday for me and I look forward to continuing the program with you.

When we came to you we had made quite a few changes to our lives in an attempt to live and look better. We had made some progress in that direction but it was slow and had many setbacks. After over five years of
trying to do things on our own we were tired of achieving only mediocre improvement at an incredibly slow pace. When we came to you we had a clear idea of what we wanted but were out of ideas on how to achieve them. We wanted to look and feel fit and healthy.

From the very first meeting with the two of you we felt a rapport that we weren't expecting. We were impressed with your candor, your knowledge and your support from the moment we met you and to this day that has never
changed. You set up a plan for us to follow and explained why everything about the diet was the way it was. You also made sure we knew it was o.k. to email or phone whenever there was a concern or question.

Armed with your diet and some new knowledge we found almost instant success with both of us dropping an unprecedented amount of weight in the first week. Within six months we had achieved something we were striving towards for five years. We looked fit and healthy and we felt great. Then we changed our goals and decided we wanted to put on a little more muscle so you said "No problem". You tweaked our diet slightly and we began towards our new goal. All along, your encouragement, counseling and patience helped keep us on track.

It is hard to believe that it has been a year. I met and started the program with Brian & Donna on my 37th birthday, November 2007. I was out of shape to say the least and tipped the scale at 228 lbs. and was told by people that for a guy who was 6 feet tall that I could carry the weight and did not look that heavy! What a scary picture and thought.

At first I was skeptical of the program as it seemed too good to be true. All I had to do was to eat "lean and clean" and my body would burn up the fat. I could not believe the amount of food and clean calories that I was asked to eat. I did not think I could eat that much food, but I did and start to lose weight. It really is that simple! Within 27 weeks I lost 56 lbs and found the guy who had been eaten by the fat guy I once was.

Thank you Brian and Donna! Thank you to my wife Marilyn who changed our cooking habits and was so supportive through all of this. By the way Marilyn lost 20 lbs and all she did was eat the food that she prepared and it increased her metabolism as well. There is no excuse for not losing the weight and changing your eating habits to healthy choices.

The most work you will find with the program is that you must track your caloric intake and then email it to Donna aka - The Food Warden. You must also weigh your food. These are very simple things that just become part of your daily routine.

As I said it has been 1 year and I just turned 38. Thanks to Brian, Donna, and Marilyn I am now in the best shape of my life. Well at least for now as we are still in transition as we add muscle and definition. One of the most surprising rewards that I have gotten from this program is the change we have seen in our kids. They have definitely leaned out. It is comforting to know that we are teaching them healthy eating habits and choices that will be ingrained for the rest of their lives and to know that this has been instilled in them from the ages of 5 and 7. Wow this is an awesome program! Thank you also to David Luscombe who had the guts and nerve to recommend that I look into the program and make a change for my health. Thank you to all!

If you are reading the testimonials and thinking about starting the program, JUST DO IT! It will change you, your life, and your families. Do not hesitate, start in December so that you can avoid gaining more weight over Christmas. I lost 10 lbs last December and you can too!

I started out as a skinny kid, then puberty hit. I became a couch potato and started to pack on the pounds. When I hit 39, I realized I was too big for what I wanted. I was 175 lbs and couldn't even blame it on having children. The only one at fault was me and my couch.

I tried different types of diets, mostly books that I bought. I couldn't stick to their recipes and thought I knew better. I also joined the gym. I was never one for aerobic classes. I hired a personal trainer and learned how to do the exercises properly. I started going in the morning before work when I could exercise for 40 to 60 minutes and then I had to get ready for work. I would break my time evenly between the treadmill and weights. I would find some exercises would hurt. My legs were sore going up stairs. Not the joints but the muscles. I also thougt that I could limit my calories. I didn't realize that I limited my proteins and kept some very bad carbs. I would go to the gym and work out 4 days of the week for about 6 months. I also kept jumping on the scale. I started at 175 lbs and quit after 6 months at 170 lbs. I admit my muscles were getting toned and I kept moving to heavier weights and faster walking on the treadmill. My muscles didn't hurt as much going upstairs, but the weight wasn't falling off me as I hoped. There were many a day that I could justify that Snickers bar because I did do 20 minutes on the treadmill. I needed that chocolate bar, because I was starving myself of what I needed. After a while I didn't see enough results and any excuse would stop me from going to the gym.

Just before I turned 46, I was in Hawaii and absolutely hated having my picture taken. I was 180+ lbs and clothes didn't fit well, bathing suits looked awful and I was not happy. When I returned, I decided to check out weight loss plans. For my personality, I needed to have someone tell me what to eat and when. I knew that someone would have to explain why I was eating these items and not blindly follow. I knew I couldn't do it for myself. I also knew I didn't want to purchase some company's food that I would have to purchase for life. I also have a husband at home who doesn't want to be on a diet and I hate cooking two meals. I had to find something that would work for both of us. I spoke with Brian and Donna. They mentioned that their diet was store bought/farm type food. It sounded good. I started the program in March with all intentions to go to the gym and have a two pronged weight loss approach. The best time for me to go to the gym is early morning, I work 8 hours a day and evening is still busy with being a couch potato. Every morning I tried to get to the gym but every excuse kept coming up. I have been to the gym less than 20 times in the last 8 months.

This diet has been a success. My husband has been eating the meals that I cook and he doesn't feel deprived. We took an eight day holiday to New York and ate in restaurants every day. I only gained 2 pounds and took it back off in a week. I have had a steady weight loss of 5 lbs per month and have reached my goal of 140 lbs. But better than that number is the fact that I can actually buy a dress. My size at the top matches my size at the bottom. Before I had to find a size 14 dress with a large skirt or buy a size 16 and have the top taken in. Now I can confidently walk a size 8 into the change room and know it will fit properly. My husband thinks the best result is that I am happy.

PS he can't stop looking at my butt.

Cravings - At work, I have an M&M machine right outside my door and for 25 cents you get 6 Peanut M&M's. We have a kitchen with drawers of chocolate bars and small packages of chips for minimal charge. Donuts, bagels and muffins are purchased by the company every Friday, first come first serve. My co-worker who shares my office indulges in all of the above. I handle my cravings in various manners. I always know that I can have the M&M's anytime I want. But I always ask myself do I want them? Am I hungry or just bored? I am happy with my results and I am full. I am not hungry until just before the next meal time. I also have my lunch and snacks with me, so I can eat a little early if I am hungry. I just keep thinking would I disappoint Brian and Donna if I indulge? Would Donna kick my butt? Would I disappoint myself? My biggest problem with cravings is not what I want. I find that when someone around me is eating chips, I get a craving. I don't want chips and I would rather have chocolate or cookies. The sound of other people eating chips (noisy) bothers me. I find it easier to walk away for a short time or listen to something else (music).

Janna Hendry, Edmonton, AB
Lost 25 lbs in 16 weeks

I first picked up a fitness magazine in the 9th grade, in awe of the confident, athletic women I saw as I flipped through the pages. Ever since then I have been trying to transform myself into one of those women. I began clipping out articles about diets and training, as well as pictures of competitive athletes for motivation. I found myself falling into a cycle.

Merging the varied information I had collected, I would:

  1. - make unrealistic goals about weight loss and food;
  2. - record and track my progress (or lack thereof) towards my weight and food goals;
  3. - go to the gym every day, performing hours of cardio and weight training;
  4. - begin to feel deprived on the diets I'd invented;
  5. - cheat on my diet and skip the gym, feeling discouraged that I was not seeing the results I had hoped for;
  6. - struggle to get back on my diet, and get back to the gym.

Frustrated and exhausted, this cycle continued for many years. I was not consistent on any given plan since I did not have the confidence that what I was doing would work. I tried a variety of shakes, pills and programs, all with minimal results.

I began to wonder if I should hire a fitness professional to help me achieve my goals. It was about six years ago that I found Brian and Donna's website. I considered contacting them, but I was intimidated. I was afraid that they may criticize my previous methods and tell me 'more of the same'. Eat less, workout more. I eventually convinced myself that I knew what I was doing; I didn't need to spend my money on a trainer. And besides... I was just about to start my new diet!

I continued exercising and dieting on my own, doing the same thing I'd always done with the same results: NONE! It wasn't until attended a bodybuilding competition in 2006 that I decided to ask for help. I was tired of spinning in circles, and getting nowhere. More than anything, I wanted a body like the ones I'd seen on that stage. Brian and Donna were still in the back of my mind, but I had been too afraid to contact them. When I saw them presenting awards that day, I was star-struck. They looked even better in person! Although I was nervous to meet them, I set up an appointment. My fears were squashed in my first meeting with Donna; I liked her right away. She was easy to talk to, understanding, and very confident that she could help me change my body. Brian and Donna were not judgmental and didn't make me feel foolish for having failed in my previous dieting attempts. Once I started their diet my weight began to drop and I began to see the changes in my body that I'd been so desperate for. It was surprising to me that even with their long list of clients the Logues were always available to me. When I called, they were not too busy to talk and provide support, whether I'd made mistake or just needed clarification. When I emailed, I received a response the same day. I was never without their support. I now realized that a significant component that I had been missing was accountability. I am still amazed that they can remember the details of my diet and my personal struggles, as if I were their only client. It was clear to me right away that they take a genuine interest in each of their clients. And this interest in my success has not faded.

I have been under the Logue's guidance for just over two years, but it only took about two weeks to believe what the Logues had told me the first time we'd met: Proper nutrition is 80% of success when it comes to changing the look of your body. No wonder my previous attempts had not yielded results - my diet had been all wrong. It turns out that I didn't need to restrict my calories the way I had thought. In fact, I needed to eat more! In the first year of dieting with the Logues I saw more changes to my physique than I'd seen in the last 10 years of fumbling through random programs and diets. These changes were what inspired me to compete as a bodybuilder. Being able to take control of my diet and watch my body change has been the most rewarding experience of my life. After following the strict competition diet, I felt like I could accomplish anything! My one regret is that I hadn't contacted the Logues sooner. That would have saved me years of unhappiness.

I highly recommend Brian and Donna to any person who wants to see real improvement to their physique. The changes you will see and feel when you adjust your diet will be amazing. You truly are what you eat!

Now that I have the Logues to guide me, my routine looks quite different. I now:

  • - make realistic goals about the changes I want to see to my physique;
  • - record and track my progress with purpose;
  • - go to the gym every day performing cardio and weight training;
  • - maintain a diet that is satisfying;
  • - am confident that the combination of exercise and the Logue's diet rules will provide results;
  • - thank Brian and Donna every chance I get. They absolutely changed my life.

Reshaping your body does not have to be a struggle. The Logues not only gave me the knowledge to fuel my body correctly, and the encouragement and confidence to compete, but they also taught me to live my dreams. And if you check out the Summer 2008 issue of Status Fitness magazine, you'll see that I'm doing just that. I've finally transformed myself into one of those confident, athletic women that you'll see as you flip through the pages. And I owe it all to Brian and Donna Logue.

Lost 115 lbs in 1 year

In 2000 I had hit 265 lbs, 40 lbs more than my previous high - 225 while pregnant - still pretty awful. After my third child I continually got heavier and suffered with headaches and other health issues. Time to make changes because I was fat and felt terrible.

I found Body For Life and told my husband I am going to give this a go - if this doesn't work I am destined to be fat, that was unacceptable to me so I had to make it work! I got down to 170 lbs (95 lbs lost) - but over time I gained back 35 lbs.

My wake-up call was finding out I have the same blood disorder that claimed my father in 11 days. It was time to get back on track but plateaus frustrated me, and led me astray with nobody to help me on the BFL program.

Brian and Donna told me this program was 80% food - I was skeptical but determined and with no exercise I lost 10 lbs a month. They knew how to avoid sticking points instead of getting frustrated and discouraged. I'm below 150 lbs & I've never felt better or more energetic. Eating clean makes you feel so alive and you drop pounds! This is no diet - it is a new healthy lifestyle.

"You can achieve your goals if you are willing to give up your excuses."
Thanks again, Lyandra Elkjer

I meet Brian & Donna through my daughter, Brandy, when she was working out at Club Fit. Brandy was quite heavy and was desperately trying to lose weight. She joined Club Fit and started to work out. It was here that she met Brian and Donna. She began body building with them and was very excited about it. They put her on a special diet but I didn't pay any attention to it but soon I noticed that Brandy was dropping a substantial amount of weight and toning up.

I talked to Brandy about it and she said that Brian and Donna were great people and that they put everyone on a special diet suited to them. Now I have been thru the Scarsdale Diet (1980), Spa Lady, Atkins Diet, Weight Watchers, Egg and Grapefruit Diet and many many more without any success, just yo-yo, down 15 pounds, up 25 pounds. Over the past 15 years my weight has crept up over 40 pounds. I was sure that Brian and Donna were just another fad or phase and that the yo-yo would continue.

Brandy nagged me so much that I finally agreed to go and see Brian and Donna.

The first time was very different. No weighing, measuring, etc. They just talked to me about why I thought I had gained over the years. They asked me what I liked to eat and my eating patterns. Donna then printed out a seven day diet for me. She gave me her e-mail address and their phone number and asked me to keep in touch with the progress. They would have me back in one month to go over my progress. They also told me that this is not a crash diet and not to expect the weight to fall off and that it would come off in good time. The weight that comes of slower stays off.

With diet in hand I went grocery shopping - they had me eating six times a day and drinking Whey Gourmet protein shakes. I am a big meat fan and this diet suited me perfectly. In the past, with other diets it has been a cardinal sin to eat after 6:00 p.m. (especially popcorn) - but they assured me I could eat six cups of popcorn right before I went to bed.

I was totally stuffed all day, I thought "No way an I going to lose weight eating like this." No rules either, other than just eat what is one the diet.

After the first month I had lost 5 pounds, second month another 5 pounds, third month 5 pounds, and after the six month I had lost 25 pounds. People were noticing, clothes that I hadn't worn for years were fitting. And this is all without lifting one weight or ever going to the gym.

As I kept in touch with them on a regular basis via e-mail and seeing them eregularly they changed my diet when I plateaued. I went from the 1 week plan to a 4 day rotation diet and then to a high protein diet. Each time I changed the diet the weight would begin to fall off.

The cost was reasonale, and very competitive to other diet programs and you were eating foods that could be bought at any grocery store without costing any more.

Even with cheating on several occasions - it has been six months now and I am down a total of 25 pounds. But like Brian said "It is not so much the diet but changing your eating habits, you can have an off day (cheat) and not balloon up if you know how to react.

I can't thank them enough - You will really enjoy going for your check up. They don't weigh or measure you etc. They say you know if your losing so we don't have to take stats. This also made it easier to go for your check-ups because you knew they wouldn't be making you feel bad if you didn't lose what was expected of you. They even went so far as to talk to you and make you feel better and ready to tackle the next week.

Hat's off to you both.
My husband and I are taking a trip to Texas in a month and I will actually be able to wear my bathing suit and not feel like a beached whale.
Thanks again.

"A Life altering experience"

My journey began 9 years ago, I competed for the first time in 1998, but had been training long before that, but not competitively.

In May of 1999 I gave birth to my daughter and took time off to focus on her. In 2005 I had started a new job, and started working many hours to buy a new house, with everyday life I found I had no time to train.

As many of us do, this is the excuse I gave myself for not continuing to train. I had gained a bunch of weight and was quite unhappy, lethargic, eating bad with a general lack of care for myself. All I became focused on was my daughter and work, not taking anytime to take care of myself which as a mother you put aside as they are your main priority.

Then in August 2006 I made a life decision to go and talk with Brian and Donna, whom I had known from many, many years before, and got myself in to see them. I then started my new life journey and diet on August 9th, and I have never looked back. When I started I weighed 187 lbs and my body fat was around 26% I was just a mess. By Christmas I had dropped to 170 lbs (15%) - the inches had melted away and I felt remarkable, what a transformation in only a few months!

We decided as a group that I would compete at the Northern's in 2007, so began a new journey and new diet for another 5 months.
It is amazing what you can do in such a short period of time, if you just apply yourself and be dedicated to transforming your body, mind and soul. Brian and Donna are so supportive and knowledgeable, whatever question you may have, whatever hang up about your body you may have, they have seen it all, and dealt with every life experience that could possibly come up.

There are no excuses, there is just desire that you must have in yourself, to change your life. They will give you everything you need to obtain it - it is possible. Being a single parent, working Full time, and training, it's hard at times - but if you are organized and focused it will happen.
The admiration and love I have for Brian and Donna could never be fully conveyed for helping me put my life back on track. and always including my daughter, they are so family oriented - which is very lacking these days in a lot of people, they give the whole package.

I can only say give yourself the opportunity to let them help you, and allow the full potential of yourself to shine through.

Lost 25 lbs in 16 weeks

I met Brian and Donna through my daughter who had entered her first Body Building competition under their supervision. Watching her train and especially diet was a transformation I had never seen before. While I had toiled in the gym for the past ten years, my development both on the muscular and weight areas had shown some improvement, but nothing compared to the metamorphosis I saw over the six months she worked in preparation for her competition.

Her results were incredible, transforming from 143 pounds to a lean, muscular 102 pounds for competition, in just 6 months. Donna and Brian's diet program changed her way of thinking about what to eat, when to eat and how to manage her weight.

I was inspired - seeing her and many athletes compete, knowing what they had to endure and to be disciplined enough to meet their personal goals was amazing.

I decided in the fall of 2006 I would take that journey. My first visit with Brian and Donna was late March, 2007. When I went to see them I had been desperately dieting to reduce my overblown Christmas enjoyment, which had added to my already soft frame. I had ballooned to 218 pounds because my diet was traditional. Starve yourself on a low calorie diet until you reach your desired weight. By the time I went to see Brian and Donna I weighed in at 199lbs - Not bad I thought.

We went through my medical history. I was 53 years old, Type II diabetes, just been put on blood pressure pills and was told to add an aspirin a day to thin the blood. On top of that, my cholesterol was out of control and I was told to take pills for that. Knowing I was going to Brian and Donna I resisted taking a cholesterol prescription until I could see if the their new diet could help.

First thing Brian and Donna did was assess my calorie intake. Donna quickly surmised I was starving my body, especially my muscle growth since my diet consisted of only 1500 calories. Knowing my ambition was to compete in my first competition a change of eating habits was set up. Number one on the agenda was to feed my body clean carbs and protein that would help reduce fat and increase muscle.

For the next 26 weeks I would see my calorie intake adjust as Brian and Donna determine what was necessary to reach my competition weight of 163 pounds. From an intake as high as 4600 calories to add good weight, to 2300 calories as I went through the leaning down phase, I logged my weight and measured the changes I could see before my eyes.
By simply changing my eating habits, things started to happen. My weight training program remained the same, with the exception of me pushing it harder. As the weight dropped off and the muscles started to appear (apparently they were there, just couldn't see them under the fat) I wanted to work it harder.

At first my goal was to go to the competition, but as I began to get used to eating the proper foods, I realized my health was the ultimate goal. The competition would be my first step to achieving what now would become my life style.

Twenty six weeks later, I had completed my first journey. My competition weight was right on as I weighed in at 161 pounds. My pant size dropped from a 36 - 38 waist to a lean 32. But here's the real benefit - In less than three months my cholesterol had reversed itself and I was recording below average stats for what was considered normal. My diabetes is under complete control. Best of all I no longer require blood pressure pills. Both my doctor and dietician where asking how I did it. Diet change with the help of Brian and Donna Logue was the only answer I could give.

Now I am currently bulking up in preparation for my second and third competitions. I expect to weigh in 5 - 10 pounds heavier than my fist competition. Checked in with the doctor and with the head start I have over last year, I am looking forward to new positive results.

Here we go again - Thanks to Brian and Donna.

Lost 41 lbs in 24 weeks

I am a 33 year old mother of two who works full time and overall I have a great life, although I have always had problems with weight fluctuations since my early twenties.

I have managed to lose weight on my own a couple of times, but due to the fact that I didn't do it properly it has always crept back. After having my second child I managed to lose some weight, but I needed to lose at least 40 more pounds to be at a healthy weight. I tried dieting on my own and making my own exercise program, but always ended up bingeing and never sticking to a schedule. My energy was low, I felt tired and unmotivated, and my positive self esteem was in short supply.
One day I was talking with a couple who are good friends of mine and he mentioned how he was doing a program through Brian and Donna for competitive bodybuilding, and said that they would be great people to talk to because they not only work with professional athletes but regular people like you and me who want to better themselves.

I thought it over and decided to contact them, and it was one of the most positive things I have ever done for myself. Not only did I learn to eat properly, I was never hungry and the food list had many things to choose from. Donna was always very prompt in answering any inquiries I had, and she gave me the tools to lead a very healthy lifestyle and through doing the program taught me what foods contain what and how to use that to my benefit.

I was quite surprised to learn that food(and plenty of it!) is the key to weight loss, and though I should have exercised more, I barely did and I still managed to lose 41 pounds in my six months with them.

My energy levels are high, I feel absolutely wonderful physically, and my self esteem these days is great. Amazing what a bit of good guidance will do. I will be forever grateful to Donna and Brian for helping me reach my goals, and I would reccomend them first and foremost to anyone who wants to change their lifestyle for the better.

THANK YOU - Anna Dowler

Lost 52 lbs in 5 months

At age 15, my first diet was the one that requires special packaged foods that were so expensive that I couldnt' afford to continue... My following diets included counting points, pills, powders, meals always different than family served menus. I'd start and stop, then confess I couldn't live that way - it wasn't working for me. Up to that point at least, I was constantly aware of my weight and kept it in check on occaision.

Finally, I was burnt-out with trying after I told myself that I must have some strange metabolic background, after all, results weren't long lasting and my eating habbits on a diet were not attainable - how could I continue for the rest of my life?

I gained so much weight that what was the point of dieting again only to be dissapointed in the end? Then I attempted something in desperation... I researched nutrition and its effects on dedicated gym exercising. It seemed to be so natural and make so much sense to me that I apparently had overlooked my individual needs. Each person functions differently because each person is an individual.

I immediately joined the gym and hired my nutritionists "Brian & Donna" who created a balanced healthy meal plan that makes a life-time of sense. I now never feel hungry and can eat sensibly without over-indulging on comfort foods... I simply love it! I can do this - it's non-depriving, and I crave nothing because I lack nothing.

I have found a new comfort - confidence and the feeling of support from my nutritionists - the experts who know "Food".

I have now safely lost 100 lbs of 'comfort fat', replacing that fat is the knowledge and acceptance of a healthy lifestyule. I feel so great, I feel soo good.

Thank you both so very much!

Lost 63 lbs in 12 weeks

Although active for most of my life, I was constantly battling to keep my weight down. Over the years, I tried many diets where I would lose the weight and then as time passed slowly put it back on. After some time of watching weigh go up and down I just gave up and heaved the scale into the trash. Slowly over 6 years of inactivity and sitting behind a desk I have allowed my  frame at the age of 49 to balloon to 247 lbs. with a 44 inch waist. With a sudden sense of urgency, I was off to sign up at the nearest gym.

After 4  months of dedication, I was frustrated to see that I had barely lost 15 lbs. It was at this point that a friend suggested that I call the Logues and try their nutritional program in conjunction with my workout. That bit of advice has turned my life around. In the following 12 weeks (which spanned the holiday season), I lost 48 lbs. following their nutritional program. I am currently 184 lbs. with a 33 inch waist.

During these 12 weeks, I found Brian and Donna Logue to be the consummate professionals who strove for my success while imparting the necessary knowledge, advice and encouragement that I required when I e-mailed my weekly updates, thus keeping me positive and on track to attain all my goals past, present and in the future as I continue with the program.

I believe the Logues nutritional advice can work as well for anyone as it has for me. Therefore, I believe anyones chances of success are extremely high, conversely as with most things in life you guarantee failure once you quit on yourself.

Lost 123 lbs in 28 weeks

I had never been a little guy, however, I had never been a fat guy either. I was always able to control my weight with exercise; throughout high school, and my early university days, I kept quite active. My high level of activity helped to mask my poor eating habits. However, as my activity level decreased, my weight and waistband slowly started to increase. After a few years, my weight had ballooned up to over 330 lbs. I no longer recognized the man in the mirror and I knew I needed to make some serious changes. Popular consensus told me that the key to weight loss is exercise, so I tried to control my weight by running and biking. I lost a few pounds, but it was nothing to write home about.

I was exercising like a madman and was still not getting anywhere. I knew I needed some help with my diet. I determined that in order to choose which diet to follow, I should look at the various 'after' photos. I didnt want to end up looking like an emancipated Survivor contestant; I wanted a lean, muscular physique. Enter Brian and Donna Logue.liked what I heard about the Logues from various people at the gym, from their website, and from their clients' success on an Edmonton-based weight loss TV show.

I was a little intimidated at first, but after meeting with Brian and Donna, my fears quickly disappeared. They are two of the nicest people I've met and they never made me feel fat or out of place. They were both very positive and confident that if I listened to their advice, I would be successful. They were right! After seven months, I went from 335lbs to 212 lbs. I lost over 15 inches off of my waist and dropped my pants size from 52 to 36.

The cool thing about Brian and Donna's approach to dieting is that I was never hungry. I was eating delicious everyday food that was nutritionally dense and I didn't  have to buy any special pills or eat specific brands of food. Brian and Donna were there to support me the entire time. Their knowledge, patience, and support were the key to my weight loss success!

I lost this weight while working fulltime and attending evening university classes and in case  upi are wondering, I''m not that special. Brian and Donna have helped thousands of people realize their weight loss dreams and if you are not satisfied with your physique, I encourage you to call them.

You won't be disappointed!
