I was 38 when I realized that my weight was on a slow but steady incline despite my best efforts. I was close to 170 lbs. and 35% body fat. I can recall the day that I decided enough was enough. I was at the mall trying on size 9s and they were too tight. That had never happened before. The notion of buying size 11 had me close to tears because I realized size 13 was sure to follow. I decided then and there to be proactive and treat my weight gain as if it were an emergency. I knew that I needed help if I was going to make a real change.

In January of 2003, with my husband’s encouragement, I decided to enter a bodybuilding contest. The idea of stepping on stage at a contest seemed terrifying but I knew that having a concrete goal would help me stay focused. I didn’t consider myself to be an athlete so I decided I should get the best advice available. Rumor had it that Brian and Donna were the best so I decided to hire them. I spent several years at weight training and at competitive martial arts. I read so many books on muscle-building, dieting and weight training. I buried myself with magazine articles on nutrition and training. Try as I might, I slowly became fatter and fatter and lost all hope of ever achieving my fitness goals.

I eventually met Brian and Donna Logue and began training with them. They inspired me to compete in bodybuilding and put me on a program to lose fat and gain lean muscle tissue. After a couple years of weight training and dieting, I had made a decision to push myself to the next level and try competing. My husband and I attended a local bodybuilding and fitness competition and noticed that a lot of the athletes thanked Brian and Donna Logue for their diet and training. I decided, based on how these athletes looked with respect to their conditioning, to make an appointment with the Logues and see just how they could help me realize my competition goals. We met in early 2003 and straight away focused on the 2003 CBBF World Qualifier for the sport of Figure and I have been training with them since then.

With their guidance, knowledge and expertise, Brian and Donna have dieted and trained me towards my multiple national level titles in the sport of Figure and, in 2004, helped me realize another dream by placing top 3 in my first bodybuilding show at the provincial level.

What makes my diet and training with the Logues work for me is that they are always available for questions about my diet and training by telephone, e-mail, but what also keeps me on track is my weekly in-person appointment, where we go over my posing and stage presence. I appreciate their honesty with respect to my progress and how my expectations are managed with respect to the various contests and placings I am working towards at any given time. What also makes me happy to work with the Logues is their genuine emotional investment in the goals I have set for myself. They genuinely want to see me succeed in reaching my fitness goals as my happiness seems to make them happy in return!

The initial basis of my relationship with the Logues was for contest-diet purposes, however this relationship quickly turned into a friendship as well and I would refer anyone to them, regardless of their age, fitness level or fitness goals, for anything from simple weight loss plans, sport specific training and diet or more advanced competition planning.
